1. General Acknowledgment Procedures
When acknowledging LaserNetUS in any presentation, publication, or report, ensure the following components are included:
-
- The grant number associated with LaserNetUS Management or Facility.
- Proper wording for the acknowledgment based on the type of support received (e.g., experiment, travel, or M&S grants).
- Upload all materials (presentations, publications, reports) using the designated submission form to append them to your record for the experiment permanently.
2. Acknowledgment Wording
a. For Publications and Reports
Use the following acknowledgment(s) based on the support received.
Awarded LaserNetUS Experiments:
Replace [Funding Number] and [Facility Name] using the lookup table in Section 3 below.
"The work was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science (SC) Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) program under [Funding Number]: the LaserNetUS initiative at the [Facility Name]."
LaserNetUS Travel and M&S Grants:
"The work was partially supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science (SC) Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) program under Contract No. FWP-100884: LaserNetUS Management."
b. For Presentations
When acknowledging funding in presentations, ensure that acknowledgments are concise and prominently displayed, either on the title slide or on a dedicated acknowledgment slide. It is essential to also include the LaserNetUS logo where appropriate. You can download the LaserNetUS logos in various formats from the following link: LaserNetUS Logo Resources. Below is the required wording for the acknowledgment:
"The work was conducted at the [Facility Name]: a LaserNetUS facility funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science (SC) Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) program."
3. Funding Numbers
Below is a table of funding numbers for LaserNetUS management and experiment-related support. Be sure to use the correct funding number for your project.
Important: Funding numbers are subject to change each cycle, so please refer to this table if you are awarded additional support on your project in the future.

4. Uploading Presentations, Publications, and Reports
After completing any LaserNetUS-supported presentation, publication, or report supported by LaserNetUS, you must upload these materials using the designated submission form. This will permanently append them to your record for the experiment and ensure proper documentation of your work.
-
- Submission Form: https://lasernetus.org/results
By submitting your materials, you help maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of all work funded by LaserNetUS, which is essential for tracking progress and reporting outcomes.
5. Best Practices
-
- Double-check the Funding Number: Always verify the number before before submitting your report or publication to ensure accuracy.
- Consistency is Key: Use the same wording for acknowledgments across all outputs related to the funded work.
- Check Submission Guidelines: Many journals, conferences, and grant reports have specific sections requiring funding acknowledgments. Ensure that the LaserNetUS Persistent IDs are included when requested.
