Celebrating Kramer Akli's Election as 2024 Optica Fellow

Nov 2, 2023. News

The year 2024 marks a significant moment in the field of optics and photonics as our very own Kramer Akli, serving as the Program Manager of U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Fusion Energy Sciences High Energy Density Laboratory Plasmas, Quantum Information Science, and Inertial Fusion Energy Programs, has been elected as a Fellow of Optica (formerly known as OSA). This prestigious recognition is a testament to his outstanding contributions to research, business, education, engineering, and dedicated service to both Optica and our global community.

The election to the 2024 class of Optica Fellows is a highly competitive process, as Fellows can make up no more than 10 percent of the total membership. Candidates are carefully considered, and nominations are reviewed by current Fellows. Kramer Akli's exemplary work and commitment to advancing the field of optics and photonics have not gone unnoticed. He has made significant strides in these areas, and his election as an Optica Fellow is a well-deserved honor.

As we congratulate Kramer Akli and the entire 2024 class of Optica Fellows, we acknowledge their unwavering dedication to our field. Their exceptional contributions continue to drive progress, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at Optica conferences and events throughout the year.

This recognition is a reflection of the excellence that individuals like Kramer Akli bring to their work and the broader scientific community. We are proud to have Kramer as a founder and member of our LaserNetUS Management team, where his expertise and commitment have been instrumental in shaping our mission to advance high-power laser research. The entire LaserNetUS community joins in celebrating this remarkable achievement, and we eagerly anticipate the continued impact of Kramer's work on our community.
