Lin Yin
Lin Yin received her Ph.D. in Physics from UCLA in 1998. She came to LANL as a Director’s Postdoctoral Fellow in 1999 and became a technical staff member in 2001. She has worked on a wide range of topics, including kinetic particle-in-cell simulations, hybrid simulations, simulation studies of long- and short-pulse laser-plasma interactions. Her work in laser-plasma interaction includes the study of nonlinearity in the stimulated Raman and Brillouin scattering of laser, cross-beam energy transfer among laser beams, and ultra-intense laser-matter interaction for laser-generated ion, neutron, and photon sources. She has authored/co-authored 132 refereed journal publications (cited 7899 times; H Index 49) and has received the APS-DPP Katherine E. Weimer Award, 5 DOE/NNSA Defense Programs Awards of Excellence and 3 LANL Distinguished Performance Awards. Lin has served as principal investigator for several projects, including LANL LDRD, DOE FES, and NASA funded projects. She was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2014 and a LANL Laboratory Fellow in 2022.
